The Organizers' Dilemma
Since reading the entire novel straight through in a marathon session takes about the same 24 hours as the events in the book, and we have chosen to allocate ourselves only 1/8th of that time, we have a real quandary of choice.
Therefore, In order to lighten the financial burden of participation, further the cause of democracy, and help us make difficult choices, we are holding a CONTEST.
We invite you to help us by:
- becoming a volunteer reader; and - making suggestions of highlights to be read.
Readers will be entitled to free drinks, as will those who first suggest excerpts from Ulysses that are actually read aloud at the event - and the outstanding reader at the event will be entitled to a prize (in addition to the acclaim, affection and appreciation of those attending).
